Sitting down to a Sunday roast with family or friends is undoubtedly something of a British institution. There’s nothing more comforting than tucking into this classic hearty meal on a chilly day.
Lucky for us, Somerset is home to some fantastic Sunday lunch venues. With Mother’s Day (19th March) just around the corner and some special offers still available for our luxury properties, there’s no better time to spoil Mum.
Here’s a selection of our favourite spots for a Sunday roast, don’t forget to book your table well in advance!
The Anchor Inn, Hillfarrance – the charming Anchor Inn dates back to 1737 and prides itself on offering local and seasonal produce. Very popular with locals!
The Farmers Arms at Combe Florey – a gorgeous thatched country pub which regularly hosts the Exmoor Food Festival. Their talented team offer a delicious menu featuring fresh local ingredients.
The Allerford Inn, Nr Taunton. – A modern style, family country pub, not all too far from our Halse properties. Offers a legendary carvery lunch every Sunday and a tempting selection of puddings, should you still have room!
Doniford Farm Park – As well as being a lovely day out with the children, this family farm park is also a great option for a Sunday lunch. It’s carvery is very popular and good value for money. Afterwards take a walk around the farm and see the animals (admission is free).
