All abroad the West Somerset Heritage Railway this Christmas ! Two family-favourites are back for 2022 and are sure to be as popular as ever and book up quickly. Choose from Winterlights and the Santa Express. Both are magical experiences for all the family and just a short distance away from our all our properties here in West Somerset.
Winterlights operates every Friday and Saturday evening from 18th November – 17th December, then selected dates until 31st December 2022
At Bishops Lydeard Station, the magic begins. A seat aboard an illuminated train awaits, ready to take you on an unforgettable winter journey. Travel along the enchanted track, through woodlands and countryside transformed for the season. Spectacular lineside displays will shine and glow, to the amazement of the whole family. An encapsulating tale will unfold along the way, before you arrive at Crowcombe Heathfield Station. You will gaze in wonderment through the carriage windows at a famous station steeped in festive spirit. It’s then back to Bishops Lydeard in your cosy, comfortable carriage before your wonderful Winterlights journey becomes Christmas memories to treasure. To make the experience extra special, you can pre order a cookie and hot chocolate and Brunel goodie bags for the journey.
The ever-popular Santa Express service from Bishops Lydeard is now available to book! Operates every Saturday and Sunday from 3rd December until 18th December, then selected dates until Christmas Eve.
Make memories to treasure for a lifetime on a family favourite – the Santa Express. Step aboard the festively decorated heritage carriages, filled with Christmas cheer and excitement and take a wonderful journey through West Somerset’s winter woodlands. Santa’s presents and refreshments will be waiting at your table and he’ll be along for the ride to ensure you have received them! A round trip to Williton means there will be plenty of time aboard to soak up the experience, get in the festive spirit or relax with some refreshments whilst enjoying the journey. This year, Santa’s gifts are made from 100% recycled materials.
