We are very lucky at Lavender Hill Holidays to have some great local pubs very close by to both the cottages in Halse and The Railway Cottages- some are a short stroll and others a short drive away- do read on for more information –
THE NEW INN – The local pub to Lavender Barn, Cherry Tree Farmhouse , The Treehouse, Cornflower Cottage and The Apple Treehouse is a mere five minute relaxed stroll away ( do take a torch in the dark as there are no street lights!)
Its a wonderful family and dog friendly pub with a small beer garden , comforatable bar area and modern resturant .
The New Inn is well know for its classic , simple pub food made with quality ingediants with a modern twist- great vegetarian options!
THE BICKNOLLER INN– The ‘BICK’ as it is fondly known to locals in in the village of Bicknoller , about a five min drive or twenty min walk from Railway Cottage and The Railway Carriage and about a twenty minute drive from the ohter cottages is a fantastic local pub.
Well rated on Trip Advisor it is known for fabulous local food, well cooked and generous portions as well as plenty of space ofr a good pint and a pretty garden with chickens and boules.
THE FARMERS ARMS is a stunning thathed pub in the village of Coombe Florey about a ten minute drive from both sites and a decent hours walk along footpaths and quiet lanes from the Halse cottages. It serves great food and often has special events, wood fired pizza outdoor ovens and friendly staff as well as a pretty garden with lots of flowers.
THE CAREW ARMS is located in the stunning village of Crowecombe which is well worth a wander around and is at the bottom of The Quantock Hills – a perfect pub to stop at before or after exploring the hills. It has a large garden with great views and serves excellent food and great beer!!
